Long Letter from Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman - 2 Sides - Long Letter from Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman - 2 Sides Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman (1886-1976), studied under Rabbi Simcha Zelig of Brisk and Rabbi Shimon Shkopf and at the Volozhin Kollel. Rabbi in a number of Lithuanian communities, before settling in England (in 1923) as Rabbi of Liverpool, where he was active in raising religious standards, and later in assisting German Jewish refugees. Appointed Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv in 1946 and Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel in 1964. Author of Shevet Miyehuda.
