Sacred and rare Chaba"d item - first edition of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's haggadah in which he shares his teachings about Passover and seder night!

Sacred and rare Chaba"d item - first edition of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's haggadah in which he shares his teachings about Passover and seder night! The significance of the "first edition" is all the more important when discussing the Passover Haggadah which exists specifically for the mitzvah of telling the story of the exodus from Egypt from father to son and from rabbi to disciple.

Title pages for books from Kehat had predetermined heichalot starting from the Ba'al Shem Tov, the maggid of Mezeritch, the Alter Rebbe and so on. Each heichal bore a special border chosen by the Rebbe, the Rayya"tz, for the title page. When time came to print this haggadah, the question arose as to which title page would be used for printing the haggadah. The Admo"r the Rayya"tz responded, instructing his son-in-law, Rabbi Menachem Mendel: "Abba (the Admo"r the Rash"b) was 'internal' and you are 'internal.' It is therefore appropriate that this haggadah be printed with a title page like Abba's."

This edition is especially valuable to collectors due to the haggadah's name being different in this edition from the name used for the other editions. Only this first edition uses the title Likkutei Minhagim U'Ta'amim and the second and subsequent editions used a title with the words rearranged: Likkutei Ta'amim U'Minhagim.
