Rabbi Yosef was a disciple of Rabbi Yaakov Tenenbaum, author of Naharei Afarsemon, and son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch, Rabbi of Bonyhad and author of Pri Hasadeh and Tevuas Hasadeh. Served as Dayan in Bonyhad and Rabbi of the Machzikei Torah community in Groswardein. Authored a large number of halachic works and edited his father-in-law’s writings for publication. For 20 years he served as editor of the respected rabbinical journal ‘Vayelaket Yosef’ including many of his own contributions.
