All the blessings said to the holders of the tree of life - a historical letter from the great Torah Leader Rabbi Shimon Yehuda Ha’Cohen Shkop - during his stay in New York in the year 1929
R. Shimon Yehuda Ha’Cohen Shkop (1860-1940), learned in the great Yeshivos of Mir and Volozhin. In 1884, he was appointed as a Maggid Shiur in Telz where he remained until 1903, when he succeeded his father as Rav of Moltash. In 1920, he became Rosh Yeshiva in Grodno where his shiurim attracted hundreds of students. Under his leadership, Yeshivas Grodno became world famous as a bastion of Torah, and his Seforim Sha’arei Yosher and Chidushei R. Shimon are studied in great depth in Yeshivos worldwide.
