In his youth he studied with the Dayan Rabbi Avraham Eliezer Rottenberg of Lodz. At the age of 13 received his rabbinic Semicha. Married the daughter of the Holy Rav Rabbi Bezalel Yair Danziger the son of the Holy Rav Rabbi Yechiel of Alexander. A leading disciple of his uncles the Holy Rav the Yismach Yisroel and his successor the Holy Rav the Tiferest Shmuel of Alexander. Immigrated to Israel after the Holocaust and his days saw development, prosperity and renewal. The kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri [1899-2006], knew and even saw the Ben Ish Chai. He studied Torah and kabbalah with the sages of Baval and of Jerusalem, where he moved in 1922. In his first years in Jerusalem, he earned his livelihood binding books, and studied in the Beit El and Porat Yosef yeshivahs in the Old City. Over the years, his greatness in hidden wisdom became known, and many made their way to his home to ask for his blessing and council, and to receive amulets for salvation. He passed away in 2006 at the advanced age of over 100 years, and tens of thousands of Jews from across the spectrum attended his funeral. Rabbi Kaduri is considered the highest authority on amulets in recent generations, and they are known for their effectiveness. He authored the comprehensive book Pitchei Olam - a five-volume work on amulets, segulahs, and prayers. Regarding him and those like him, the gemara states: ”Itmachi gavra v'itamchi kamia”: amulets he writes will be effective forever. רבי עובדיה הדאיה (תר”ן-תשכ”ט), בנו של זקן המקובלים רבי שלום הדאיה, מגדולי הדיינים והמקובלים בירושלים. כיהן כחבר בית הדין הגדול בירושלים וייסד ישיבת המקובלים ”בית אל” בעיר החדשה. מחבר סדרת הספרים שו”ת ”ישכיל עבדי” שמונה חלקים, וספרים נוספים בנגלה ובנסתר.
