Extremely Rare! letter by the Holy Rabbi Moshenu of Boyan - Blessings for the New Year - Cracow 1938 - letter by the Holy Rabbi Moshenu of Boyan - Blessings for the New Year R. Moshenu Friedman of Boyan-Cracow (1881-1943) was a son of R. Sholom Yosef Friedman of Husyatyn. He was orphaned as a young child and was raised by his grandfather R. Mordechai Shraga of Husyatyn (son of The Ruzhiner) and later by his uncle R. Yisroel of Husyatyn. He married a granddaughter of R. Yitzchok of Boyan and later settled in Cracow where he served as Boyaner Rebbe. Known as a prodigious Talmid Chochom and great Rebbe he was enormously respected. He was an active member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of the Agudas Yisroel and following the passing of R. Meir Schapira he served as the Nasi of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin. During the Holocaust he continued to lead his Chasidim with great strength despite the circumstances. He was killed in Auschwitz in 1943. A small portion of his novella survived and was published under the title Da’as Moshe.
