He was a genius and kabbalist who mastered both the Revealed and Hidden Torah, was exceedingly stringent in his observance of mitzvos, fasted frequently and abstained from physical pleasure in his service of Hashem. He was a disciple of Harav Chaim Tzvi Mannheimer, Av Beis Din of Ungvar; a son-in-law of Harav Amram Yishai Bilitzer; and received semichah from the Beis Naftali. His noteworthy sefarim include Darchei Chaim on Torah and Shas and Segulos U’refuos.
