Rabbi Menachem Shem Tov HaCohen Hassid (1851–1911) was a public figure, dayan and posek, one of the founders of Misgav Ladach Hospital and its director, a member of the Sephardic community committee in Jerusalem and a member of the city's tribunal. Known for his eloquent and rich style of writing sermons, blessings and eulogies. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1851 (1851). His father was the renowned Rabbi Shem Tov HaCohen Hassid, one of the leaders of the Beit El Yeshiva in Jerusalem and author of the book ”Tov Shem”.
