בפתח הספר מביא רבי צבי הירש בן המחבר סיפור מרעיש שאירע עמו, מכיוון שהתרשל בהבאת הספר לבית הדפוס: "ויד ה' נגעה בי, ושלחו עלי פריצי רשעי עמנו, וגרשו אותי ממקומי חמסו וגזלו הפשיטו בגדי החמודות מעלי, עד כי ערום הציגוני, ואין לי יום בלי איום, מאיגרא רמה לבירא עמיקתא נפלתי" ומיד נזדרז בהדפסת הספר והצרות פסקו באחת!
