The book "Bashamim Rosh" was at the center of a great controversy: the great Rabbi Mordechai Bennett and Hatam Sofer, claimed and proved that the book was fake and that the answers were not written by the Rosh, but by the book's publisher Rabbi Shaul Berlin. Yet the book's credibility remains controversial to this day.
R. Eliezer Auerbach served as Rav in Kultchin and later as Rav of the renowned Kehilla of Dubno. He was one of the great rabbinical figures of his time and corresponded with the great Poskim of his era including R. Ephraim Zalman Margulies of Brod (Bais Ephraim), and R. Dovid Shlomo Eibeschutz (Livushei S’rad), (See responsum #30).
