Sefer Shoshanim to David, Casablanca, 1935-1936
נולד בשנת 1869 ברבאט שבמרוקו למשפחה רבנית ממוצא ספרדי. אביו היה ר' מסעוד צבאח, שכיהן כדיין ברבאט. בצעירותו למד תורה ממספר רבנים ובהם אביו ר' מסעוד ור' יוסף ברדוגו. בשנת 1929 מונה לדיין בעיר אל-ג'דידה ושירת את הקהילה בתפקיד זה במשך עשר שנים. בשנת 1929 היה לדיין בעיר פורט ליוטה (לימים "אל-קניטרה"). לאחר שנתיים חזר לעיר הולדתו רבאט ומונה לדיין ומו"צ על ידי הרב רפאל אנקווה. עם קום מדינת ישראל בשנת 1948 עלה ארצה והתיישב בירושלים. בישראל היה מקורב לרב עוזיאל. הרב צבאח כתב מספר חיבורים, מהם הובא לדפוס בקזבלנקה ספרו "שושנים לדוד" (1935) בן שני הכרכים, שו"ת על כל חלקי השולחן ערוך. בין חיבוריו שנשארו בכתב יד ספר שו"ת "מגן דוד" (1949), ספר על הלכות שחיטה וטרפות וספר "שגיון לדוד" העוסק בחידושים בדיני הגיטין. בנוסף חיבר שירה ומספר פיוטים וקינות. בשנת 2010, קובצו פסיקותיו וחידושיו לספר בשם "שו"ת וחידושי רבי דוד צבאח ובית דינו".
