ה”חק” של הרבי הקדוש רבי דוד לעלובער - R. Dovid Tzvi Shlomo Biderman (1843-1918), was the son of R. Elozor Menachem Biderman and Rebbetzin Matil Faiga, a granddaughter of the Chozeh of Lublin. As a young child he emigrated together with his father to Yerusholayim. As a young man he returned to Poland where he became a close talmid of R. Aaron Karliner (Bais Aaron) and upon his return to Eretz Yisroel, he opened a Bais Ha’Midrash for the Karliner Chassidim. Upon the passing of his father in 1883, he refused to become Rebbe despite the pleading of the Chassidim. Only after the passing of his uncle, R. Yitzchok Dovid in 1887 did he agree to become Rebbe, incorporating many minhagim of Karlin to the Chassidus. His Torah was published in Likutei Divrei Dovid. He was renowned a great Tzaddik and was held in great esteem. In his capacity a member of Kollel Warsaw he worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Jews of the old Yishuv.
