Rabbi Yisrael of Boyan - Rabbi Yisrael of Boyan (1878 - 1951) was the son of Rabbi Yitzchak of Boyan, author of Pachad Yitzchak, son of Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, son of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. Rabbi Yisrael was born on the first day of slichos about which Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura remarked, ”He came into the world as a Chassid” . Rabbi Yisrael began to serve as Admor in Vienna in 1917 and later moved to Leipzig. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1939 and was buried in Tzfas.  Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Leib Zilberman [1889-1947], the chief rabbi of Safed for thirty years, and a grandson of Rabbi Rafael Zilberman, who served as the chief rabbi of the Ashkenazi congregation of Safed. Rabbi Zilberman continued the tradition of the rabbinical dynasty of the Zilberman family and served as the emissary of the Rebbes of Boyan to light the Lag B'Omer bonfire at Meron.
