Aaron Kotler (1892-1963), was renowned from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with his great diligence. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Slutzk and Kletsk and established Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, N.J., which today is one of the largest and most prestigious Yeshivos. Known as the pre-eminent Rosh Yeshiva and Torah leader of his generation he was pivotal in the reestablishment of Yeshivos after the Holocaust. Yeshivas Eitz Chaim of Slutsk Relocates to Kletsk Following oppression and persecution by the Communist regime, the famed Yeshivah of Slutsk under the auspices of Hagaon Harav Isser Zalman Meltzer zt”l relocated from Russia to Kletsk in Poland, where his son-in-law Hagaon Harav Aharon Kotler assumed the position of Rosh Yeshivah.
