He was a disciple of the Shevet Sofer of Pressburg and succeeded his brother's position as Rabbi of Derecske following his brother's move to Paksh. He authored Divrei Sofrim al Klalei HaTalmud – Three Parts, and Responsa Divrei Sofrim.
