Writes ”I drank a lot from the well of the Chatam Sofer and Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum from Ohel who I used to serve for several consecutive years” The letter was written to ”The Great and Well-Known Tzaddik Rabbi Famous in the Deeds of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ullman Av Beit Din of Makawa The late Rabbi Yaakov Av Beit Din of Chost and Boyam, a disciple of the Chatam Sofer, and he also had a semicha from him, the Chatam Sofer detained him for two months and paid him alimony for the entire duration of the 2 months and gave him permission to teach  He was also a student of the Baal Yismach Moshe. He traveled a lot with the late Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Makalov, and was with him several times on Pesach He also went to the late Rabbi Mendel of Riminov, and once he went to him and on the way the horse died and when he came to Riminov the rabbi bought him another horse which drove him to his house.
