The mixed media has some chips and some parts are missing from age and storage. Laimon Mitris was born in 1920 in Latvia, he had spent the last five decades living in Quebec, almost all the time in Rouyn Noranda, Abitibi-Temiscamingue, and made amazing images in his unique style. Mitris's palette often used vibrant and vivid colors. He often cut out many pieces of different wood essence for supports, before painting them, and assembling them into multi-layered constructions. These suggest celestial bodies, microscopic life, futuristic cityscapes or totally abstract forms.
