Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Bird and Flower Ginger Jar with Lid - A hand-painted Chinese blue and white porcelain ginger jar with a matching domed lid. The vessel is decorated in underglaze blue on a white ground with a consistent fine crackle glaze throughout. The decoration features a traditional birds and flowers motif, depicting two birds perched upon flowering peony branches. The jar is of ovoid form with a short neck and an unglazed rim. The underside of the base features a hand-painted mark in an orange-red pigment consisting of a single curved loop. Small stray marks of blue pigment are visible on the body.
