Mizmor LeDavid , on Hilchos Shechita, by Rabbi David Pardo, Livorno, 1817. First edition. Containing many Hasagos on Sefer Peiroד Genosar by Rabbeinu Chaim Ben Atar author of the holy Or HaChaim, An approbation by Rabbi Moshe Danon is enclosed with the Sefer. Rabbi David Pardo (1718-1790), one of the greatest Poskim of Spain. Was born in Venice to a pedigreed family, descendents of Rabbi Yitzchak Abuhav. At a young age he was orophaned and lost his inheritance. Subsequently, he was forced to move to Aspalato (today, Split, Croetia) where he tried to make a living as a teacher. Later, when his greatness became known, he started serving as a Rav of varied communities. He edtablished a yeshiva in the town, where many Sages of the generation studied including Rabbi Avraham Fanso and Rabbi Shabtai David Vantura. In 1761, he travelled to Belgrad to serve as a Rav. Rabbi David used to travel to Livorno to print his many Seforim and there, in 1775, he met Rabbeinu the Chida, whom he befriended, and eventually became his in-law.
