Ma'aseh Chiya by Rabbi Chiya Rofeh of Safed. Venice, 1652. First Edition. Talmudic novellae and responsa by HaRav HaMusmach Rabbi Chiya Rofeh, a leading chacham of Safed. The sefer was printed by his son, Rabbi Meir Rofeh, a Chevron emissary, with an approbation by Rabbi Eliezer ben Archa, rabbi of Chevron. The sefer opens with an approbation and poem by the Rama”z. Title page with an architectural border. The Rav Hamusmach Rabbi Chiyya Rofeh (circa 1550-1617) studied Torah in the yeshivah of Rabbi Shlomo Sagish together with the Maharit. He then studied the wisdom of kabbalah under Rabbi Chaim Vital and was one of the select disciples to transmit his sacred teachings to the future generations, teaching Rabbi Binyamin Halevi who subsequently taught the Ramaz. Rabbi Chiyya Rofeh was one of the prominent scholars ordained by Rabbi Yaakov Beirav along with his contemporary sages, Mahrit Tzahalon and author of Sefer Chareidim.
