Long letter of Divrei Torah by Rabbi Naftali Zvi Shmerler. Rabbi Naftali Zvi Shmerler (1888-1948) was a dayan and rosh yeshiva, the son of Rabbi Ephraim Mordechai, and son-in-law of Rabbi Yaakov Meir Bleich. He came from chassidei Chortkov, was the grandson of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Birenbaum, Av Beit Din of Nostrishatz. He was a rabbi in Vienna and Ram at the yeshiva there, and among his students were: Rabbi Yaakov Hornstein of Nietra, Rabbi Yisrael Heschel son of the Admor of Kopishinitz.
