During the early 17th century in Italy, many laymen were becoming lax in various important halachic prohibitions. This sefer divided into 10 parts addresses these issues and provides an important historical glimpse of the spiritual standing and challenges facing the community.
Rabbi Shmuel Abuhav (1610-1694), was among the great Torah giants and poskim of his generation. He served as Rov of Verona and authored the famed D’var Shmuel responsa. He was amongst the fiercest opponents of Shabtai Tzvi, and invested tremendous efforts to curb the “Sabbatean” influence in Italy.
