Degel Machaneh Ephraim. First Edition of the ”Amaros Tehoros”, Zhitomer 1850. Chassidic commentaries on Chumash by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Ephraim of Sudilkov, grandson of the Baal Shem Tov. The author of “Degel”, as he is affectionately referred to by Chassidim, was born in Mezhibuzh in 1747, to the Baal Shem Tov’s only daughter Udel. He was educated and dearly loved by his grandfather who was involved in raising and educating him.
