Letter by Rabbi Nachman Dovid Landynski, Gateshead, 1931. He writes to Hagaon Rabbi Ya'akov Shechter, Rabbi of Belfast, that the yeshiva situation is very tight, therefore he intends to come to him for Shavuos, maybe he can collect for the benefit of the yeshiva. R. Nachman Dovid Landynski (1898 – 1968), was a son of the famed R. Moshe Landynski Rosh Yeshivas Radin. He learned in the Novardok Yeshiva and was sent by the Chofetz Chaim together with R. Eliezer Kahn to found Yeshivas Bais Yosef in Gateshead. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Gateshead until the 1950’s, when he relocated to New York, and served as Rosh Yeshiva in Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim.
