Expanded edition which the author printed in his lifetime.
Rabbi Yaacov of Beis HaLevi was born in Greece in the year 5325 [1565] approximately, and lived in Italy. He was imprisoned and was led to the Island of Malta. He was released and returned to Italy and in the year 5374 [1614] he printed part of his response.In the edition before us he added further responsa and also printed the earlier responsa with additions.
Rabbi Efrayim Fishel Hershkowitz (1922-2017), b. Munkacz, where he was an adherent of the Rebbe of Spinka and studied Torah diligently in his Beth Hamedrash. After WWII he served as Av Beth Din of Ratzfert and afterwards of Hollein in Austria. After immigrating to New York he was appointed Av Beth Din of the Sanz – Klausenburg community and was widely recognised as a leading rabbinical scholar and halachic authority.
