Admor R. Tzvi Hirsch Friedman of Liska (1808-1874), was a close talmid of R. Moshe Teitelbaum (Yismach Moshe).

He also had a connection to R. Yisroel of Ruzhin, R. Meir of Premishlan, R. Shalom of Belz (Sa’ar Sholom) and R. Chaim of Sanz (Divrei Chaim). At the behest of the Yismach Moshe he was appointed as Rav of Liska. Following the passing of the Yismach Moshe (in 1841) he began to lead as a Rebbe and was among the most influential Tzadikim in Hungary. Among his noted Chasidim was R. Yeshaya Steiner of Kerestir, who is included in the list of presubscribers as “R. Yeshaya Ben R. Moshe”.
