Each title page has a signature of the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Finkel. Rabbi Moshe Finkel, one of the heads of Yeshivos Knesses Yisrael in Slobodka and Chevron. Son of the Saba of Slobodka, Rabbi Natan Tzvi Finkel, and son-in-law of the Rosh Yeshiva, the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein. Known as one of the outstanding students and geniuses of the Lithuanian yeshivas, and called the “genius of geniuses.” R' Meir Simcha Ha’Cohen (1843-1926), was born in Butrimonys, Lithuania and after his marriage he settled in Bialystok, where he studied in the local shul for many years developing into a phenomenal Talmid Chacham. He then accepted an invitation to be the Rav of the Misnagdim of the city of Dvinsk alongside R. Yosef Rosen (Rogatchover Gaon), who was the Rav of the Chasidim.
