CONTINENTAL OIL PAINTING SIGNED FABRE - Continental School, late 19th to early 20th century oil painting on canvas depicting an elegant Rococo-inspired interior scene with a powdered gentleman presenting sheet music to a seated young woman in an ornate salon. Richly detailed with elaborate gilded architectural ornament, drapery, furnishings, and refined period costume, the composition reflects the Academic tradition's fascination with 18th-century French society. Hand signed to the lower right corner. Housed in a gilt wood frame. MEASURES: 20.5 in x 16.75 in FRAME DIMENSIONS: 24.75 in x 20.75 in CONDITION REPORT: Good overall antique estate condition. Craquelure is present throughout the canvas. Canvas appears to be re-stretched. No obvious major paint losses visible. Minor frame wear and corner separations.
