ANTIQUE CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE PORCELAIN LIDDED BOX - Chinese porcelain circular covered box, hand painted in iron-red, green and black enamels. The domed lid features a boldly painted Buddhist guardian lion or foo dog with large green eyes, accompanied by black calligraphic inscription. The lower body is decorated with additional reticulated calligraphic characters and a green-painted guardian lion motif. Unmarked underside. Likely late Qing Dynasty to early Republic period, circa late 19th to early 20th century. MEASURES: 3 in x 1.75 in CONDITION REPORT: Overall good estate antique pre-owned condition. Having age-related surface wear, scattered firing imperfections, discoloration and residue along the unglazed rims, and areas of wear and losses to the enamel decoration. Minor scratches, marks and imperfections throughout consistent with age and use. No obvious major restoration observed.
