Late 19th Century Italian Gilt Carved Mirror With Phoenix Pediment
Italian, carved and gesso gilt wood; scrolled and foliate frame in the rococo Chinese Chippendale taste; surmounted by a phoenix or ho-ho bird holding a garland in it's beak; draped on the ears; terminating in a scrolled foliate medallion. Total size measuring approx 64" high x 32" wide. Mirror measures approx 34" high x 23" wide.
