Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Four Drawer Bachelor Chest - This small chest of drawers, or bachelor chest, is designed in the Jacobean Revival style with Gothic influences. The piece is crafted from dark-stained oak, which features a prominent open grain. The chest contains four drawers in a vertical arrangement. The top drawer is decorated with a relief-carved horizontal band in a gadrooned or picket pattern. The lower three drawers are accented with raised perimeter moldings. Each drawer is fitted with two turned wooden knobs that match the dark finish of the oak. The entire unit is supported by four squat bun feet. This style of furniture was widely produced in the United States during the early 20th century.
