Antique Pine Blanket Chest with Dovetail Joinery - An antique pine blanket chest or storage trunk of rectangular form, likely dating from the 19th century. The chest is constructed from solid pine boards and features visible hand-cut dovetail joinery at the corners. It rests on a simple wrap-around plinth base. The exterior is fitted with a cast metal keyhole escutcheon on the front and heavy iron drop handles mounted on rectangular backplates at either end. The interior is unfinished and includes a single vertical divider on the right side, creating a small built-in till for organization. The interior hardware has been modified with a modern brass-toned continuous piano hinge and dual lid-stay support arms. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the piece.
