Two Small Oriental Style Rugs including a Turkoman Tribal Rug and an Oval Floral Rug - This lot consists of two small wool rugs of differing origins and designs. The first is a hand-knotted tribal rug, likely of Turkoman or Afghan origin, resembling Ersari designs. It features a rectangular format with a deep madder red field. The central design consists of three rows of six stepped-cross gul motifs rendered in shades of brown, navy, and cream. A small-scale repeating geometric lattice fills the background of the field. The piece is enclosed by multiple narrow borders, with the primary border displaying stylized floral rosettes. Construction is wool pile on a wool foundation. The second item is an oval accent rug of Indo-Persian or commercial production. It features a cream-colored field with a central floral medallion surrounded by an all-over pattern of scrolling vines and floral arabesques. The color palette includes dusty rose, light blue, and navy accents. The main border contains repeating floral motifs in a navy and charcoal tone. The rug is constructed with a wool pile. No maker's marks or signatures are present on either piece.
