Georgian Style Mahogany Slant-Front Desk - This mahogany slant-front desk is constructed in the Georgian style, featuring a fall-front writing surface that opens to reveal a fitted interior. The interior arrangement includes multiple pigeonholes, small drawers, and a central cabinet door flanked by fluted pilasters. The desk body contains four graduated long drawers, each with brass batwing-style drawer pulls and matching keyhole escutcheons. The writing surface is supported by two pull-out lopers. The piece is elevated on four ogee bracket feet. The primary wood is a dark-toned mahogany with a polished finish. No maker's marks or manufacturer stamps are visible on the exterior or underside. The construction and styling are consistent with late 18th or early 19th-century cabinetmaking. An inventory sticker with the digits 9600 is present on the upper left corner of the fall-front.
