Sandford Pottery Wareham Dorset Majolica Crimean War Military Pitcher - This majolica pitcher is attributed to Sandford Pottery, Victoria Works, Wareham, Dorset, produced circa 1860. The ceramic vessel features a multi-colored drip glaze in shades of yellow, green, blue, and brown with high-relief molded decorations throughout the body. The design includes scenes of military figures, specifically soldiers and sailors, and a central circular medallion containing a female portrait bust. A Greek key border surrounds the upper neck, and embossed text near the base includes the words ARMY, BRAVE, and COLUMBIA. The piece is finished with a textured blue handle and a light blue glazed interior.
