A Pair of Lionel TMCC Upgrade Kits Models 6-22960 and 6-22961 - A pair of vintage Lionel upgrade kits in their original cardboard packaging, designed for TrainMaster Command Control (TMCC) system integration. Both boxes are printed with the Lionel Trains American Legend logo and bear the manufacturer name Lionel LLC, Chesterfield, Michigan. The first kit, model number 6-22961, is a Standard Upgrade Kit for non-powered GP-9 B units. The printed label states it includes parts to add Lionel Command Control, ElectroCouplers, and directional lighting. Internal components include a circuit board marked (C) 98 Lionel LCRX0906, metal coupler assemblies, wiring harnesses, and an instruction sheet titled Instruction sheet for Upgrade kits 6-2961, 6-2962, & 6-2979 dated 3/98. The second kit, model number 6-22960, is designed for Command Ready Locomotives produced starting in 1998. The box features a white retail price sticker reading $38.99 and a handwritten note in red ink reading E Unit. It contains an electronic circuit board with a white adhesive label reading LY2198 and an integrated circuit chip labeled E CMD04 V/P LIONEL TRAINS. , Both items remain in their original vintage packaging. The box for 6-22961 shows minor shelf wear, light scuffing at the corners, and a slight indentation on the top panel (photo 1). The internal components for this kit appear unused and are mostly contained within their original plastic bags (photo 3). The box for 6-22960 shows light wear and includes a retail price sticker and a handwritten ink notation on the front label (photo 1). The circuit board for 6-22960 is removed from its anti-static bag but shows no visible physical damage to the components or pins (photo 2).
