Warwick Knockabout Swiss Made Art Deco Mechanical Wristwatch - This antique Swiss-made mechanical wristwatch features a cushion-shaped base metal case with elaborate foliate scroll engraving across the bezel and lugs. The champagne-toned dial exhibits a vertical brushed finish and is set with bold Art Deco style Arabic numerals. A sub-seconds dial is positioned at the 6 o'clock mark. The watch face bears a printed mark below the 12 reading WARWICK and a curved printed mark below it reading KNOCKABOUT. The word SWISS is printed along the bottom edge of the dial. The watch is fitted with a distressed brown textured leather strap. The movement is a manual-wind mechanical type and is currently in running condition. The case back is plain polished metal with no visible exterior markings. Total length: 8.25 inches. Case width excluding crown: 28 mm. Case length lug-to-lug: 35 mm. The watch is in used antique condition. The dial shows significant even patination and spotting throughout (photo 2). The luminous material on the hands and numerals has darkened and shows some degradation (photo 2). The crystal has light surface scuffing and scratches (photo 1). The engraved case exhibits softening of the detail and visible pitting and oxidation, particularly around the crown and case seams (photos 6 and 7). The case back and sides show heavy scratching and surface wear (photo 5). The leather strap is in poor condition, showing heavy cracking, drying, and loss of the surface finish near the lugs (photo 11).
