Triple-Strand Freshwater Cultured Pearl and 14 Karat Yellow Gold Bead Necklace - A three-strand necklace featuring white freshwater cultured pearls and 14 karat yellow gold accents. The necklace is composed of three strands of small, baroque-shaped white pearls that exhibit high luster and pink and green orient. Small, spherical yellow gold beads are intermittently spaced throughout each strand. The piece is secured with a yellow gold filigree fish-hook style clasp. A stamped mark reading 14K is located on the underside of the clasp. Additional characters are present within the openwork design of the clasp but are not legible. Necklace length: Approximately 16.5 to 17 inches Pearl diameter: 3.44 mm - 3.67 mm. The necklace is in good overall condition. The pearls show high luster and typical baroque surface irregularities with no significant damage observed. The silk stringing appears secure, although there is visible fraying of the thread where it attaches to the metal jump rings at the clasp (photo 2). The gold beads and clasp show minor surface wear and light tarnishing consistent with age.
