A Three-Piece Louis XVI Revival Marble and Gilt Metal Clock Garniture by J. L. Lot and A. Boys - A three-piece mantel clock garniture set in the Louis XVI revival style, featuring a portico-style clock and two matching urn-form garnitures. The clock is constructed from Verde Antico-style green-veined marble and gilded metal mounts, with two columns supporting the central movement drum. The drum is decorated with floral swags and a basket of flowers finial. The white enamel dial features black Arabic numeral hour markers and delicate polychrome floral swags draped between them, with pierced gold-tone scrollwork hands. The mechanical, spring-driven movement is equipped with a suspended pendulum featuring a floral bob. On the rear of the movement, the brass backplate bears an impressed circular stamp reading J. L. LOT & A. BOYS PARIS. The pair of matching garniture urns each have a green marble body, fluted gilded metal bases, floral finials, and square marble plinths supported by four turned gilded feet. The clock base measures approximately 7 inches across the widest point. The garniture urns measure approximately 7 inches in height. The brass movement drum has a significant structural crack at the top (photo 5). Both garniture urns are each missing one of their four gilded feet and the associated securing nut (photos 8, 10, 11). All metal mounts across the set require tightening and the lot is offered for restoration (user-provided facts). The marble components show minor nibbles and small chips along the edges and corners (photo 2, 4). General surface oxidation, tarnish, and wear to the gilding are present on all pieces. The clock is untested and mechanical working order is not guaranteed.
