Art Deco Frosted Green Uranium Glass Lidded Powder Jar with Triple Bird Finial - This Art Deco style powder jar or dresser box is crafted from pressed green uranium glass, which exhibits a strong, vibrant green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The jar and lid feature a frosted satin finish. The lid is surmounted by a figural finial depicting three birds, such as lovebirds or budgerigars, perched on a branch. Two of the birds are positioned facing the center, with the leftmost bird touching beaks with the middle bird. The base of the jar has an octagonal form with recessed rectangular panels around the perimeter. The interior of the lid and the underside of the base feature faint impressed circular marks. These marks consist of several characters, however, they are not clearly legible as a name or recognizable wordmark. No pontil mark is present, as is characteristic of pressed glass. Diameter: 4 1/2 inches Height: 5 1/4 inches. Several small chips or flea bites are present along the inner rim of the lid (photo 8). There are small chips visible along the interior mounting rim of the base (photo 7). A vertical mold line or possible internal stress line is visible on the lid behind the bird on the right (photo 3). The glass exhibits minor surface wear and small manufacturing inclusions consistent with age.
