Bidspirit auction | Herman Miller Noguchi Coffee Table

Herman Miller Noguchi Coffee Table in Walnut - A contemporary Herman Miller Noguchi coffee table, a licensed production of the original 1944 design by Isamu Noguchi. The piece features a heavy 0.75-inch thick freeform plate glass top with polished edges. The base is constructed from two interlocking solid walnut members joined by a metal dowel pin. Authentication is provided by several distinct markings: a black oval adhesive label on the underside of the lower wood leg reads Herman Miller above a script signature reading Isamu Noguchi; a corresponding signature is etched into the longest edge of the glass top. The table is accompanied by its original documentation, including a white paper brochure titled Noguchi Table with the Herman Miller logo, a set of assembly instructions, and a Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate bears an embossed Herman Miller logo and is hand-marked with the product code IN50 OU and a manufacture date of 12-08-06. The table is in very good condition. The glass top appears clear with no visible chips or significant scratches (photo 1). The solid walnut base exhibits a natural grain throughout; there is a small area of light-colored surface wear or a superficial mark located on the interior curve of the lower leg member (photo 3). The included documentation shows minor creasing and wear from handling (photos 4-7).
