Isamu Noguchi Akari Light Sculpture Floor Lamp, Model 10A / 23N Form - A Japanese washi paper and bamboo floor light sculpture designed by Isamu Noguchi. The piece is constructed with an ovoid, tapering washi paper shade supported by spiraled bamboo ribbing over an internal enameled steel wire frame, raised on three slender black metal legs. The shade is marked in red with a sun and crescent moon motif over the word JAPAN, accompanied by the printed facsimile signature I. Noguchi in dark ink. A central metal wire stretcher secures the upper aperture, and the lamp is fitted with standard electrical socket hardware. Good condition overall. The washi paper shade displays minor natural creasing and slight surface dust consistent with age and use. The internal wire armature and tripod base retain original enameled finish with minimal surface wear. Electrics illuminate properly as shown in photo 1. No tears, punctures, or structural losses observed.
