Bidspirit auction | Antique Brass Double Arm Student

Antique Brass Double Arm Student Table Lamp with Swirl Pattern Cased Glass Shades - An antique double-arm student-style table lamp featuring a solid brass construction. The central standard is topped with a decorative loop finial and supports two adjustable arms extending from a central urn-shaped element. Each arm terminates in a burner-style housing with a pierced decorative gallery and a Victorian-style key-turn switch. The lamp is fitted with two cased glass shades featuring a diagonal swirl rib pattern; one shade exhibits a warm creamy tone while the other appears a cooler white. Two clear glass chimneys are seated within the galleries, housing decorative flame-tip light bulbs. The lamp is electrified with a brown cord. The base is a stepped, circular brass form. No maker marks, signatures, or patent dates are visible on the base, standard, or burner assemblies. Height: 20.5 inches (to top of finial) Width: 19.5 inches (across shades). The brass surfaces exhibit an aged patina with scattered areas of oxidation, tarnish, and surface wear consistent with the antique nature of the piece. Minor pitting and discoloration are visible on the base and central urn element (photo 4, photo 5). The cased glass shades and clear chimneys appear to be in good condition without visible cracks or large chips (photo 2, photo 3). There is a slight color variation between the two shades when illuminated (photo 1). The lamp is in working condition at the time of cataloging (photo 1), though the wiring is vintage and shows standard wear.
