Circa 1950s Dama Stationary Live Steam Model Engine - A vintage German-made stationary live steam toy engine featuring a horizontal polished brass boiler mounted on a black-painted sheet metal firebox. The mechanism includes a single brass steam pipe leading to an oscillating cylinder that drives a cast metal flywheel with a silver-toned rim and dark spokes. The flywheel is supported by a brown-painted cast metal frame, and the entire assembly is mounted to a pressed steel base with a brown enamel finish. A brass safety valve/filler plug is fitted to the top of the boiler. An adhesive blue and silver foil tag is attached to the boiler by a gold-colored cord; it features a circular logo depicting a crown atop a globe, with the vertical text DAMA clearly legible. A black metal channel at the rear of the firebox is designed to hold a burner tray, which is currently absent. The underside features a brown enameled finish with exposed internal metal mounting tabs. Length of base: Approximately 5 1/2 inches Width of base: Approximately 4 1/2 inches. The enameled brown base and black firebox exhibit scattered paint chips, surface scratches, and light oxidation throughout (photos 1, 3, and 5). The polished brass boiler shows surface tarnish and minor dark staining (photos 1 and 3). The Dama foil tag is present but shows significant wear, creasing, and loss to the silver borders and lettering (photo 2). The underside of the base displays heavy oxidation and surface rust on the internal mounting tabs (photo 4). The unit is mechanically intact but untested for functionality; the burner tray is missing.
