Bing Live Steam Stationary Engine - A German live steam stationary engine featuring a brass boiler, a black painted sheet-metal firebox base, and a lithographed green and yellow patterned tinplate base. The horizontal boiler is fitted with a weighted safety valve and whistle assembly, and is connected to a single cylinder driving a red-painted cast metal flywheel. The engine includes a vertical chimney and an internal metal spirit lamp tray. An embossed circular monogram consisting of a stylized B entwined with a smaller W is located on the end of the brass boiler. The side of the firebox features an embossed diamond-shaped mark containing a B and a W arranged vertically, with the word GERMANY embossed directly below it. Height: Approximately 11.5 inches to the top of the chimney Base Length: Approximately 9.25 inches Base Width: Approximately 4.5 inches. The lithographed tinplate base shows significant wear with heavy oxidation, surface rust, and areas of missing paint (photo 1 and 8). The brass boiler exhibits heavy heat-related discoloration and oxidation throughout (photo 1 and 4). The red paint on the flywheel is chipped in multiple locations (photo 1). The black finish on the firebox shows light surface wear and minor paint loss (photo 4). The soldered joint at the top of the chimney displays heavy oxidation or signs of an older repair (photo 7). A circular metal component is detached and resting on the underside of the base (photo 6). The mechanism is untested; boiler integrity and seals have not been assessed for operation.
