German Stationary Live Steam Engine with Tall Faux Brick Chimney and Spirit Burner - A German stationary live steam plant featuring a horizontal boiler and a single-cylinder horizontal engine. The unit is constructed from tin-plate, brass, and cast iron, mounted on an embossed tin-plate base. The horizontal boiler is made of brass and is situated within a black-painted tin firebox. Steam is delivered via a pipe to a single-action cylinder, which drives a red-painted spoked cast metal flywheel. The engine is equipped with a steam whistle featuring a lever, a safety valve, and a sight glass at the end of the boiler. The tall chimney features a textured faux-brick finish. Included with the plant is a metal spirit burner with a handle and two wick tubes. A logo is printed in white on the black engine cylinder and impressed on the side of the firebox consisting of a diamond shape containing a stylized B and W. The cylinder mark includes the printed word GERMANY below the diamond. The height to the top of the chimney is 15 inches (photo 8). The base measures approximately 9.5 inches in length and 7.5 inches in width (photo 9). The green tin base shows significant paint loss and chipping along the edges and raised embossed details (photo 1). The black paint on the firebox and cylinder shows surface wear, light oxidation, and scratches (photo 3). The boiler exhibits a heavy dark patina and heat-related discoloration across its surface (photo 1). The lithographed faux-brick finish on the chimney shows significant fading and wear, with the white and gray pigment worn away in sections to reveal the underlying dark material (photo 4). The spirit burner shows heavy carbon buildup and oxidation on the wick tubes and surface rust on the reservoir (photo 7). The underside of the base shows light surface oxidation (photo 6). The mechanical parts move freely, but the boiler, seals, and overall functionality are untested.
