Fleischmann Stationary Live Steam Engine Model 122/3 - A German-made stationary live steam engine model featuring a nickel-plated tinplate boiler mounted horizontally on a black-painted tinplate firebox with a brickwork pattern. The engine is secured to a rectangular blue-painted tinplate base. A tall, black-painted vertical chimney with a flared silver-toned rim is positioned at the rear. The mechanical assembly includes a single-action cylinder, a bright red-painted cast metal flywheel, and a drive pulley. The boiler is equipped with a functional steam whistle featuring a purple handle, a safety valve, and a front-mounted sight glass for water level monitoring. A red and yellow printed logo on the front edge of the blue base reads Fleischmann in a stylized script, with a vertical extension on the letter F. The underside of the blue base features an impressed mark near the flywheel opening consisting of the characters 35/5. A faint, three-line stamped mark is present in the center of the underside but is not legible as a name. The item shows significant surface oxidation and rust across the silver-toned engine bed plate and on the mounting tabs securing the components to the base (photo 3). The boiler shows a significant breach and repair at the base of the steam whistle, characterized by a hole in the casing and white/grey residue likely from old adhesive or solder (photo 6). The nickel plating on the boiler exhibits heat-related discoloration and browning (photo 1). The blue-painted base has multiple chips and scratches along the edges and corners (photo 4). The burner tray for the firebox is missing (photo 1). The functionality of the mechanism is untested, and the boiler integrity is compromised.
