An Assortment of Antique Victorian Hat Pins and an Art Nouveau Folate Stick Pin - A collection of personal accessories featuring a yellow-toned metal stick pin and an assortment of hat pins. The stick pin is designed in an Art Nouveau style with a stylized foliate or floral head resembling a gingko leaf with scrolled accents, attached to a long, wavy shank intended to grip fabric. The accompanying assortment of hat pins consists of varied lengths and decorative heads. Included are several mourning-style pins with black faceted and smooth glass beads; a carved shell cameo head depicting a female profile in a rhinestone-bordered setting; a circular silver-toned metal head with openwork filigree floral motifs; a hand-painted blue glass bead with multicolored floral lampwork patterns; and a small floral-form head set with red stones. One gold-toned oval pin head is engraved with a crest featuring a bird above a coronet, though no maker name is legible. The shanks are primarily constructed from steel and yellow-toned metals. The ruler visible in photo 6 indicates the shanks of several pins extend between the 12 and 16-inch marks, with overall lengths varying significantly. The stick pin measures approximately 3.5 inches in length. The collection shows signs of age and use consistent with antique accessories. Several steel shanks exhibit surface oxidation and rust (photo 6). Some shanks are visibly bent or misshapen (photo 1). The cameo pin has darkened or missing foil backing behind the surrounding rhinestones (photo 2). One faceted black glass bead appears to have a small chip on one edge (photo 4). The Art Nouveau stick pin shows minor surface tarnish and light wear to the high points of the relief (photo 7).
