A Pair of Antique Sterling Silver Marcasite and Black Onyx Circle Drop Earrings - A matched pair of antique drop earrings crafted in sterling silver. Each earring features a top fan-shaped mount, a decorative connecting bail, and a circular drop element. The upper components and the top section of the circle are pave-set with numerous round-cut marcasite stones. The lower section of each circular drop is inlaid with a curved panel of polished black stone, consistent with black onyx. The earrings are constructed with post and push-back findings, currently fitted with metal butterfly clutches and silicone cushions. The reverse of one earring mount is struck with the purity mark 925, indicating sterling silver composition. Length: 1 5/8 inches Weight: 10.154 grams (0.3265 oz t). The earrings are in good antique condition. A natural dark patina is present throughout the silver surfaces, particularly concentrated within the recessed settings of the marcasite stones (photo 1). All marcasite stones and the black onyx inlays appear intact and securely set (photo 2). The posts are straight and the 925 hallmark is clearly legible on the reverse (photo 3).
