A Pair of Navajo Sterling Silver Malachite and Black Onyx Clip-On Earrings by Allison - A pair of Navajo sterling silver clip-on earrings featuring a geometric design. Each earring is set with a triangular, flat-cut malachite stone displaying characteristic light and dark green banding, paired with an oval cabochon-cut black onyx stone. The stones are secured in bezel settings and accented with silver beadwork. The earrings are constructed with hinged clip-on tension backings. The reverse of each earring is stamped with a stylized wing symbol, followed by a vertically struck name reading ALLISON. Below the wing are impressed marks reading STERLING and NAVAJO. Length: 1 3/8 inches. These antique earrings show signs of wear consistent with age (photo 4). There is surface oxidation and tarnish throughout the silver settings and backings (photo 5). A green copper-oxide residue (verdigris) is visible around the hinges and tension plates of the backings (photo 4). The malachite and onyx gemstones appear intact and securely set without visible cracks or chips (photo 2).
